Google recently announced its release of a new black-owned business attribute in an effort to make Search and Maps more inclusive. Searches are surging for black-owned businesses, and Google hopes to make it easier for customers to find and support these businesses with the new label. Here’s how to get started:

Owners who identify as black, with verified Business Profiles, can add the ‘black-owned business’ attribute to their profile.

    1. Log in to your Google My Business profile.
  1. Click the ‘Info‘ tab on the right.
  2. Scroll to the ‘Highlights‘ option.
  3. Select ‘Black-owned.’
  4. Click ‘Apply.’

That’s it! You’re done!

Our team of Local Marketing Advisors is happy to add this attribute on behalf of local business owners who manage their listings profiles in LOCALACT. Email support@localact.com with your store number, and we’ll apply the label to your profile!
